He is Ecuadorian by birth, graduated as an Agricultural Engineer from the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral-ESPOL in Ecuador and obtained the degree of M.Sc. at the Center International D´Études Supérieures en Sciences Agronomiques-SupAgro in France, 2011. He is also a Master in Rural Development from the Polytechnic University of Madrid-UPM in Spain, 2010.
His work has been based in the area of sustainable development in agriculture with an emphasis on coffee and cocoa crops, as well as he has worked as a rural extensionist. Since 2009 he has been involved in the research area from ESPOL and currently collaborates with the research group on soils and plant nutrition where they are dedicated to the identification and mitigation of pollutants in agricultural properties, with emphasis on metallic pollutants such as cadmium.
