Adriana Santos Ordóñez has a degree in Agricultural Engineering from ESPOL, a Master's degree in Rural Development Sciences from the University of Ghent and a PhD from the University of Rennes - Agrocampus Ouest in social sciences applied to agri-food studies. Her area of ??expertise focuses on the Design and facilitation of participatory processes for Action Research in producer organizations, as well as studies related to value chains and sustainable agriculture with an emphasis on agroecology and productive resilience. She is currently a Professor - Researcher at the Faculty of Life Sciences and forms the teaching staff of the Master program in Rural Development and the Agricultural and Biological Engineering undergraduate program. She has been coordinator of the Master program in Rural Development and has participated in research projects on flood risk reduction in the Daule river rice basin, as well as in projects related to the impact of cadmium in cocoa, specifically in the socio-economic component.
