Luciano Mateos is a PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Córdoba. He is currently a scientific researcher at the Institute of Sustainable Agriculture of the CSIC, in Córdoba. His specialty is irrigation management, engineering and hydrology. He has been a visiting researcher at CSIRO (Australia) and the Universities of California-Davis, Nebraska-Lincoln and Sao Paulo. He has also collaborated with international development organizations, such as FAO, of which he was an international expert. His research scales are large river basins, irrigated areas, small irrigated basins and irrigated fields. Part of his research is carried out in developing countries, in this case seeking food security and social equity. He has recently developed R + D + i projects in Latin America. His research methods and techniques include experimentation, monitoring of "natural experiments", modeling, remote sensing, spatial analysis. Luciano Mateos regularly publishes the results of his research in international scientific journals.
