Biography

Claudia Patricia Villota Caicedo (cvillota@agrosavia.co) is a Master Researcher at the Colombian Corporation for Agricultural Research (AGROSAVIA) in Bogotá, Colombia. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Natural Sciences for Development (DOCINADE), holds a master's degree in Rural Development from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and is a certified Agroindustrial Engineer from the University of Nariño. With over two decades of experience, she has led initiatives that link technological advancements with regional development, particularly in Colombian rural contexts, prioritizing the integration of innovation and territorial needs.

From her position in AGROSAVIA's Technology Transfer Department, she has spearheaded and co-executed projects focused on the sustainability of small farmers, notably developing participatory models for producer organizations. Her methodology combines analysis of local capacities, collective governance systems, and adapted technologies, working collaboratively with local, national, and global entities. Her approach spans the entire agricultural chain—from initial production to value-added commercialization—strengthening economic and social processes in rural communities
