Biography

Germán David Sánchez León (gsanchez@agrosavia.co) is an Agricultural Engineer and holds a Master in Agricultural Sciences from the National University of Colombia.

Germán David Sánchez León is an Agricultural Engineer with a Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.

He has 33 years of experience in research and transfer of agricultural technologies, formulation, management, leadership and execution of projects on good agricultural practices, organic and clean production, protected agriculture, integrated pest management, seedling production and urban agriculture.

He has worked in several regions of the country in roots and tubers (potato), vegetables (greenhouse tomato and others), fruit (lulo, blackberry, uchuva, mango). Author of more than 50 publications (manuals, book chapters, conference papers, journal articles and others). Experienced in potato, onion, tomato under cover, peas (common, Chinese and sweet peas), lettuce, cruciferous vegetables and spinach. As Innovation Manager, he promoted the articulation of the members of the network and the stakeholders of the productive chains, and knowledge management in the production systems of potato, cassava, yam, sweet potato, arracacha and achira at the national level and promoted the updating of the National R&D&I Agendas.

He currently works as Senior Master Researcher at the Tibaitatá Research Center of the Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation (AGROSAVIA) in the production of pre-basic seed potato, National Seed Potato Plan, in the Potato Purple Top project has led the risk communication activities and leads in Agrosavia the potato crop component of the Climate-Smart Initiatives for Climate Change Adaptation and Sustainability in the Potato Agricultural Production System in Colombia (CAS).
