Biography

Sebastián Vanzini holds a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires (2015), a specialization in Grain Crops from the same university (2006), and a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Faculty of Agronomy at the University of the Republic, Uruguay (2005). Since 2003, he has had a distinguished teaching career at this faculty, where he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Plant Production. In 2022, he took on the role of Director of the Livestock Farming System at INIA Uruguay, leading innovative projects focused on environmental sustainability and efficient crop management. His research has significantly advanced understanding of carbon dynamics in agricultural systems and the development of simulation models applied to agriculture. Mazzilli has also served as an advisor to various entities, including FUCREA, combining his academic expertise with practical applications in the agricultural sector. He is the author of numerous scientific articles and an active participant in international conferences. His commitment to training new professionals is evident in his work as a teacher and thesis supervisor. He is a Level I member of Uruguay’s National Researchers System, underscoring his impact and leadership in the field of agronomy.
