Biography

Agricultural engineer graduated from the University of the Republic (Uruguay), with a Master's Degree in
Soil Sciences from the same university and a Doctorate from Cornell University (United States) in 2023 with a Fulbright scholarship. Associate researcher at the National Agricultural Research Institute (INIA) of Uruguay. His work focuses on evaluating the impact of the management of agricultural, livestock, dairy, and mixed systems on soil health and the ecosystem services it provides. Valentina has led and collaborated in national and international projects that seek innovative solutions to
the main challenges of food production, also focusing on mitigating the effects of climate change and
improving its resilience. With extensive experience in field trials, data analysis and modeling,
he has published more than 13 scientific articles with more than 130 citations, book chapters and extension
articles. His career includes presentations at national and international conferences, leadership
activities, teaching, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
