Biography

Néstor Mazzeo holds a degree in Biological Sciences (Faculty of Sciences, Udelar, Uruguay) and a PhD in Science (University of Concepción, Chile). He is a Full Professor in the Department of Ecology and Environmental Management (CURE-Udelar) and a Level III Researcher in the SNI. Néstor is a founder and researcher at the SARAS Institute. He conducts research, teaching, and outreach in the following areas: ecology, conservation and rehabilitation of aquatic systems; water management and governance; structure, functioning, and management of socio-ecological systems; and management and care of common goods.
