Agricultural Engineer and Researcher at the Delta Water Management Research Unit in the Agricultural Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA-ARS) in Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA. She earned her Ph.D. in Agronomy from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nebraska, USA, in 2005. Dr. Adviento-Borbe's research focuses on water resource management, sustainable intensification of cropping systems, crop productivity, climate mitigation potentials, and the resilience of row crops. Over the past 30 years, she has conducted a wide range of field crop research in Southeast and East Asia, the USA, and Italy, focusing on crop productivity, fertilizer use efficiency, nutrient and water management, greenhouse gas/odor emissions, and crop resilience. She is the ARS team leader for the United States Global Research Alliance (GRA) as the U.S. representative on the Rice Paddy Research Subgroup in the Americas, a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the National Cotton Council of the United States, and an Advisor for the Conservation Agriculture Alliance in Asia and the Pacific (CAAAP) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
