Biography

Oscar studied Biological Sciences at Universidad Mayor de San Andrés, Bolivia and completed his PhD in Genomics and Molecular Biology at the University of Lund, Sweden. He is currently dedicated to the genetic improvement of plants through the use of molecular markers generated by Genomics. He has studied different types of stress in plants. In biotic stress, he has studied downy mildew in quinoa and in abiotic stress he has studied salinity in quinoa, Arabidopsis, rice, soybeans and potatoes.
