Diana Marcela Valencia Echavarria is a Zootechnician graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Medellín campus in 2007. She obtained her Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences with an emphasis on Animal Production: Ruminant Nutrition from the same university in 2015. Since 2016, she has been working as a Master's-level researcher at the Nus Research Center (San Roque, Antioquia, Colombia) in the area of Ruminant Nutrition. With over 8 years of research experience in Animal Nutrition, she focuses on developing and implementing nutritional strategies for bovine livestock systems aimed at improving productivity with minimal environmental impact. Her expertise lies in evaluating the nutritional value of feedstuffs, particularly grasses and forages for ruminants. She possesses knowledge and experience in developing strategies for sustainable intensification of bovine livestock systems, optimizing tropical pasture and forage management, and applying techniques for evaluating various forage characteristics and their relationship with ingestive behavior, feed efficiency, and enteric methane quantification in grazing beef cattle. Diana has experience in conducting and participating in various technology transfer activities related to pasture management and strategic supplementation alternatives. She provides training to livestock producers, students, and technical assistants on basic concepts in ruminant nutrition to enhance the utilization of feed resources for increased bovine production with reduced greenhouse gas emissions. Her academic output includes contributions to ruminant nutrition-related literature, including book chapters (1), scientific articles (8), presentations (30), curriculum designs (1), tutoring (1), and teaching experience in areas related to ruminant nutrition.
