Natalia Aguilar is a Veterinary Doctor, having graduated in 2003 from the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences at the National University of the Northeast (FCV-UNNE, Corrientes, Argentina). She obtained her Master’s degree (2007) and completed her Ph.D. in Animal Science (2016), both at the Faculty of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences of São Paulo State University (UNESP-SP, Brazil). Her education includes internships and training at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain, 2001) and The University of Sydney (Australia, 2015).
Since 2008, she has served as a researcher at the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), being part of the animal production group at the Agricultural Experiment Station (EEA) in Colonia Benítez, within the Chaco-Formosa Regional Center. Currently, she leads a National INTA Project focused on "Innovation strategies that contribute to animal welfare for sustainable production." She is also an active member of various structural projects and INTA platforms, addressing topics such as animal welfare, precision livestock farming, genetic improvement, management in Argentina's wetland regions, and quality management tools.
With a solid teaching career, she was a teaching assistant in Physiology, Biochemistry, Animal Nutrition, and Feeding at FCV-UNNE in Corrientes, Argentina. Currently, she holds the position of tenured professor in the Animal Welfare Chair at the same faculty and also teaches various postgraduate courses in the country, focusing on the Behavior and Welfare of production animals. In her role in human resource development, she supervises a master's thesis and an Initiation research fellow from the Secretariat of Science and Technology of UNNE, demonstrating her commitment to the academic development of new generations.
In addition to her outstanding academic contributions, she is an active member of the National Network of Good Agricultural Practices (Red de BPA), the National Commission for Animal Welfare of Livestock Species of SENASA, and the national CICUAE of INTA (Institutional Committee for the Care and Use of Experimental Animals).
Her research focuses on topics such as ethology, animal welfare, good livestock practices, and precision livestock farming across various animal production species. With over 50 publications, including articles, book chapters, and technical notes, Natalia is a recognized figure in the scientific and academic community.
