Agronomist and ecologist, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of the Republic (UDELAR) in Uruguay and my Master's and Doctorate studies at the Institute of Ecology A.C. in Mexico. I am a teacher and researcher at the UDELAR Faculty of Agronomy. Together with undergraduate and graduate students, we carried out the first investigations on arbuscular mycorrhizae in Uruguayan grasslands, studying the occurrence of this interaction and the effects of different management practices such as grazing and fertilization. We are currently beginning studies to determine the agronomic efficacy of the first product to be marketed in Uruguay based on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. I am a member of the Latin American Association of Rhizobiology (ALAR) and the South American Mycorrhizal Research Network.
