Genomic physiological and improvement approaches to increase drought tolerance in soybeans

Biography

Graduated in Bachelor of Biochemistry of the Faculty of Sciences of the UDELAR and Agronomist Engineer at the Faculty of Agronomy of the same University (1999). She Master in Vegetable Molecular Biology at the Free University of Brussels and the Catholic University of Leuven in Botlica (2002). Doctorate in Biological Sciences at the Pedeciba de Uruguay. From 2003 to 2014 Deputy Researcher and from 2015 to the main investigative date of the Biotechnology Unit of the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA) of Uruguay. The main areas of action are in agricultural biotechnology with emphasis on the application of molecular markers to increase abiotic stress tolerance, assisted improvement in crops and genomic edition in soybeans. It has been a tutor of a large number of undergraduate students and postgraduates from the Udelar, Uruguay. In the last 5 years he has been responsible for the projects National Network of Agricultural Biotechnology; Genomic, physiological and improvement approaches to increase drought tolerance in soybeans, molecular genetic improvement of soybeans, associative mapping for the identification of markers associated with performance, quality and resistance to diseases in the rice improvement population. In recent years he has published in magazines such as Photosynthesis Research, The Plant Genome, Plant Science, Crop Science, Euphytica, Agrociencias and EJB Electronic Journal of Biotechnology.
