Agronomist Luis Eduardo Acuña graduated in 1998 from the School of Agronomy at Universidad del Salvador. In 1999, he joined the EEA Montecarlo as an Initiation Scholar, remaining in that position until 2004, when he became a Researcher in the fruit production area.
He currently serves as coordinator of the Regional Project on Fruit and Alternative Crops. His research and development work focuses on the integrated management of field and post-harvest diseases in citrus fruits, as well as addressing various issues related to fruit crops in the province of Misiones, such as figs, pineapple, papaya, avocado, and pecans.
As part of the national program for the prevention of Huanglongbing (HLB), he is responsible for the INTA EEA Montecarlo unit’s outreach and public awareness efforts regarding the program’s focus areas.
