Ph.D researcher from the Colombian Corporation for Agricultural Research -Agrosavia. Biologist graduated from the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, with a Master's degree in Biological Sciences from Javeriana University and a doctorate from Aberystwyth University, United Kingdom. His main interest focuses on the study of the genetic diversity of plants of commercial importance through the use of molecular tools, in order to create core collections and support breeding programs. His areas of expertise focus on the use of molecular markers to characterize germplasm collections of different species, such as cape gooseberry, oil palm and cocoa. In addition, she has participated in the use of transcriptomic tools to explore molecular mechanisms of plant-pathogen interaction, as well as association studies for the identification of genes associated with characteristics of interest in plants. As part of his doctorate, she participated in the design of large-scale phenotyping experiments and collaborated in the development of artificial intelligence tools to evaluate traits of agronomical interest.
