Professor at the University of Nariño. He has a bachelor's degree in agronomic engineering, a specialization in ecology, a master's degree in agricultural science with an emphasis in plant breeding, and a doctorate in agricultural science with an emphasis in genetics and plant breeding. He has been a full-time professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Nariño since 1994. He is a member of the Research System and the academic council of the same university, among others. He is editor of the Agricultural Sciences journal and leader of the Andean Fruit Production Research group (GPFA) from the same university. He holds three awards for the best work in the Colombian Association for Plant Breeding and Crop Production Congress. He has been involved in obtaining improved varieties in corn, tree tomato, and lulo. He has authored and co-authored more than 70 scientific articles in Indexed Journals. Author or co-author of five textbooks and one research book. Speaker at more than 30 national and international academic scientific events.
