Sobre FONTAGRO
FONTAGRO fue creada en 1998 con el propósito de promover el incremento de la competitividad del sector agroalimentario, asegurando la gestión sostenible de los recursos naturales y la reducción de la pobreza en la región. El objetivo de FONTAGRO es establecerse como un mecanismo de financiamiento sostenible para el desarrollo de la tecnología e innovación agropecuaria en América Latina y el Caribe y España, y establecer un foro para la discusión de temas prioritarios de innovación tecnológica. Los países miembros son: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, España, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, República Dominicana, Uruguay y Venezuela. En los últimos 27 años se han cofinanciado 204 plataformas regionales de innovación agropecuaria por un monto de US$150.7 millones, que ha llegado a 531 instituciones y 35 países de todo el mundo.
